As requested by the community, below are some best practices for Experts who are looking to grow and build a following on Goodself. Posting externally, hosting GoodTalks, inviting new Users and Experts, and consistently uploading content will allow you to evolve on our platform!
I’ve been approved, now what?
Your Profile:
- Fill up your profile: As an Expert, please complete your profile (including bio, resume and profile picture) so that other people can better understand your credentials, follow your page, and connect with you on a more meaningful level.
- Bring your audience: Promoting your Goodself content on third-party social media apps and any podcasts or blogs will help you connect with your audience and bring more attention to your posts! For some of our suggestions on promoting your content externally, click here.
Content Creation & Growing Your Platform:
- Upload content: To begin creating your presence on the platform, upload around 10 to 15 different pieces of content to your profile. This will help ensure your posts can be disseminated through the platform so that Users can better engage with your content and follow your page. A combination of videos, pictures and thought pieces will be most effective at highlighting your knowledge. Continuously posting meaningful and engaging content makes it easier for others to discover you!
- Post often: Users want to learn from your expertise so remember to always be consistent and helpful with what you are posting. When people feel like they are getting credible information on a regular basis, they are likely to share this with others and return to your page for future content.
- Help us curtail misinformation: To reduce misinformation on Goodself, we need your help. We ask that you add references to your posts when necessary so that Users can see the source of your information. Also, use the reporting feature to bring any content you think is irrelevant or not credible to our attention.
- Exclusive content: Let Users know every time you post exclusive content.
- Lead challenges: To interact with the community, you can create and run challenges from your account.
- Set up a call with us: To learn more about Goodself and our vision, set up a call to speak with us directly. We would be happy to address any questions and discuss how we can directly benefit you. If you’re interested, please schedule a time here: https://calendly.com/goodself/meeting.
- Join a Town Hall: Join an introductory Town Hall to learn more about being an Expert on the app. Feel free to join any subsequent Town Halls that are held weekly to stay up to date on all things Goodself, including content decisions and upcoming features.
- Schedule GoodTalks: Experts tend to schedule GoodTalks on a daily, weekly, or bi-weekly basis. These are not mandatory and there is no set number of Chats to set up – feel free to schedule as many as you are comfortable with. The more GoodTalks you do, the more opportunities you have to connect with your audience and have them share your content with others. Also, be sure to let Users know about your GoodTalks in advance, to help them plan ahead!
Posting suggestions:
- If you have a book/product launch coming up, here’s a few ideas: Host exclusive book readings, host Goodself-exclusive giveaways, product teasers, etc.
- You can also post exclusive clips from podcasts, interviews etc. on your Goodself profile to drive your community to follow you on the platform.
Engaging With The Community:
- Stay engaged: Remember to continuously engage with your Goodself account by posting content and running GoodTalks. We would also love if you could engage with Goodself posts on third-party social media platforms like Instagram and Tik Tok. We’re always looking for Experts to highlight on accounts, so be on the lookout for posts about upcoming Chats and top content of the week! While using Goodself, we understand that healthy debates may occur but please remember to be kind at all times.
