What are GoodTalks?
GoodTalks are interactive live audio chats that create a space for Experts and users to engage in meaningful conversation and interact with their communities. GoodTalks can take the form of info sessions, Q&As, panels, and more. GoodTalks can be easily scheduled ahead of time or started immediately. Your followers can view your next scheduled talk and will be notified when one begins. ****
How do I create a GoodTalk?
-
To schedule a GoodTalk, click on the “Post” button from your home screen. As an Expert, you are then given the option to select “GoodTalk”. From there you can fill in all of the information pertinent to your talk including the title, a caption, the date/time, speakers, moderators, etc. When you’re ready you can share!
- Schedule GoodTalks: Experts tend to schedule GoodTalks on a daily, weekly, or bi-weekly basis. These are not mandatory and there is no set number of Chats to set up – feel free to schedule as many as you are comfortable with. The more GoodTalks you do, the more opportunities you have to connect with your audience and have them share your content with others. Also, be sure to let users know about your GoodTalks in advance, to help them plan ahead!
- Series: You can also schedule a series of talks on the app when scheduling the talk. Start by selecting the dates you would like to host the series using the calendar feature. Once the dates and times are selected, you can add a title, caption, and cover image to your series (must be consistent). You will also have the option to add any speaker or moderators.

- Listener: By default, when you join a GoodTalk, you join as a listener and enter the chat on mute. You can take on other roles (moderator, speaker) if chosen by the hosting Expert.
- Moderator: Moderators are speakers with the ability to add, mute, and remove other speakers. Users can only become invited to act as moderators by Experts.
- Speaker: Speakers are the Users in the chat who have been granted permission to talk. Experts by default are the only speakers at first and must invite other speakers. Listeners can raise their “hand” or ask a question to be invited to speak.
